01.02.2017 – The topic leaves no one indifferent nowadays. Terrorism, natural disasters, political upheavals, not only in developing countries! Travel Risk Management and/or Duty of Care are at the top of the to-do list of travel managers, TMCs, travel agents and technology providers. The organizers of the London Business Travel Show recently published a study where travel security ranked second place among the top priorities of travel managers, just behind the evergreen – cost containment.
In the past few years, we have already dealt with the subject through many projects, lectures and discussions either with clients or in the context of end-to-end processes. We have been supporting customers in the evaluation and implementation of duty of care solutions and have tested and optimized existing setups.
A new face in the team
I am extremely happy that we have been successful in winning Birger Oldorff from Reisesicherheit.ch, a true expert in the field to cooperate with travelBrain. For more than 20 years, he has been advising companies on “Duty of Care”. Through long-term work in emerging markets (e.g. Russia and former Soviet Union sates), he offers veritable “on the ground” experience. He has worked with Swiss SMEs as well as with large international companies. His expertise in travel/mobility risk management includes:
Risk analysis and benchmarking, Consulting on existing contracts and processes, project management, online expertise (tracking & information), training, service provider selection, Organization of drills and testing’s, implementation of travel risk management solutions.
Travel Risk Management – an important part of the end-to-end process
There is no “one size fits all” solution for «Duty of Care» and «Risk Management». Which measures are to be taken depends on the organization, the company culture, the budget, the industry and many other factors. Often it occurs to me and my colleagues in the team that companies already have solutions in place. However, they struggle making the best possible use out of them. Many times, it is just a question of the correct definition of roles & responsibilities within the company. For a well-defined end-to-end process, the risk management component is indispensable in any case.
Travel Risk Management Benchmarking Audit
Are you planning a «Duty of Care» project? Would you like to know where you need to start? Do you want a neutral assessment of your current solution? Within the framework of a benchmark audit, we are happy to check how your company compares with others and jointly prioritize the measures with you.
With Birger Oldorff, we now have another colleague on board, who can support our customers with a lot of expertise, absolutely neutral in all project phases.
Welcome to the team dear Birger. We look forward to working with you.
