Here at TravelBrain Strategic Meeting Management became a regular topic in many of our client projects. The lead in this area has my colleague Stefan Otter. This is the reason why he recently travelled to Las Vegas to attend the Cvent Connect Convention, one of the largest industry events on this topic. Please read his post about his trip and the convention.
From June 26 to 30, 2016 Cvent Connect took place in Las Vegas. The yearly convention of Cvent, one of the leading event management software providers, is an event which draws global attention. Almost 3000 people attended the event – clients, sponsors, Cvent employees, Hoteliers and others. This year it took place at The Venetian / The Palazzo, an impressive Hotel. You feel like standing at a canal in Venice but in reality you are in sparkling Las Vegas.
The event was split in 3 parts: Part 1 for Hoteliers, part 2 for Hoteliers and Plannies and part 3 for Plannies. Overall the event was US centric but some European and even some Swiss attendees were present. And most important the subject «international» was a huge topic in many of the sessions I attended.
In his keynote, Reggie Aggarwal (founder and CEO of Cvent) got it straight, for Cvent and its clients and partners the takeover by Vista Equity Partners is not changing anything, the platform will be further improved and developed and client focus will remain one of the key elements. When you hear Reggie talk you believe him, nowadays Cvent has 2000 employees globally and 16000 clients and he has put his heart and soul into Cvent. During the various days you were able to attend different educational sessions to learn about the roadmap, see the latest products, meet Cvent employees in the Innovation Pavilion or simply use the time for networking and meeting clients and colleagues. At «The Exchange» Plannies and Hoteliers or other suppliers were able to meet and discuss.
More about the event can be found on the Cvent Connect Website
Cvent definitely is one of the leading Event Management tools. It is not just the registration platform, it is also about what is needed in addition an event: mobile event app, check-in solutions, appointment solutions, surveys, lead tracking to name just a handful. But there is a long list of additional features and tools to the platform.
Do you, dear travelBrain client, use an event management tool or plan to implement one? We are experienced in this area and have successfully completed global implementations. Please contact us for a discussion, we are happy to consult you.
