The fact that the growth rate of mobile bookings are increasing does not really come as a surprise and is not knocking my socks off. Booking.com, HRS and some Last Minute Hotel Apps have cleared the way and their figures are pretty impressive. More interesting is that the TMCs are apparently in a position to have a foot in the door again. It was to be expected that the travel managers are ready to discuss the painful subject of “rogue bookings” with the TMCs and are more than open for a change. More difficult it is to judge whether the users – the travellers – are ready to give preference to the TMC Apps over their favourite Apps.
Mobile Hotel bookings reach 15% of Corporate Volumes
Some CWT clients are reporting that already 15% of their total hotel bookings are on mobile using CWT To Go. Certainly there is still a huge potential. But the monthly growth rate is indicating that it will a lot more very soon. For the Travel Management this means that hotel programme and travel policy are more effective and easier to control. At the same time the comfort level for the user is increasing as everything is done in one App.

In case functionalities and usability are meeting the needs, volumes can apparently still be shifted. It seems that the TMCs are hitting the road last minute. Keep up the good work.
What do you think? Are the TMCs able to be the place to go for hotel booking of business travellers?
