After his decision to leave HRG at the end of December 2018 it took only three months before Ralf Dörig is back on the stage, taking over responsibility for the business travel unit of the family business Kuster Reisen in Rapperswil. At the same time, he will act as deputy managing director in the company.
Mockingbirds were hummin’ for a few weeks and industry colleagues keet asking where Ralf will reappear after his break. Even if some were informed about the step early on, the change could go largely unnoticed and without much hype. Today, Arnold Kuster, the patron of Kuster Reisen, has informed with a short press release (german only) about the successful coup.
Since the beginning of April, Ralf is no longer in the international environment of mega-TMCs, but rather on the local and regional playing field of smaller and larger SME customers. His role as mayor of the Aargau municipality Bergdietikon can certainly be better reconciled with this. In his new challenge, Ralf will meet again a couple of customers, whom he had already looked after many years ago as Managing Director of the Kuoni BTI branch in Horgen. Of course, the SME customer segment is also very well known to him from that time.
Arnold Kuster brings a proven professional on board, with whom he will jointly plan the future of the company. If all goes according to plan, Dörig, as the successor to Kuster, should take full responsibility for Kuster Reisen in the near future. Roberto de Cesari, the former Head of Business Travel will remain with the company and will continue to play an important role in looking after their business travel customers.
I am sure Kuster Reisen will become significantly more active and maybe even more aggressive in the market in the coming weeks and months. This certainly also means that the range of action will be further widened.
The entire travelBrain team wishes Arnold Kuster and Ralf Dörig a successful cooperation and much success for the current and future challenges.
